How to Apply False Eyelashes Perfectly

How to Apply False Eyelashes Perfectly

If you've never worn false eyelashes or are not sure how to apply them, the whole process can seem difficult. The good news is that applying eyelashes is much easier than you think. Once you've mastered the technique with our help and the right tools, you'll be able to put on a perfect set of false eyelashes in minutes.

To apply false eyelashes perfectly,

  1. Ensure you've got the right size and style lashes.
  2. Finish the rest of your makeup and prepare your natural lashes.
  3. Apply glue with a brush applicator or small brush.
  4. Adhere strip to lash with an ergonomic applicator.
  5. Add eyeliner to fill in any gaps.

1. ENSURE YOU’VE GOT THE RIGHT SIZE AND STYLE LASHES

Understanding what lash you want and need for your look is the first step. Determine if you'd like to go for longer or bolder false lashes, or whether you'd like to opt for natural lashes that are more suited for day-to-day use. At Eni Lashes, we believe that eyelashes should be a tool of empowerment, so go for the lashes that make you feel at your best and most confident.

You should also decide the kind of lashes you'd like to go for. A lot of false lashes are made from real mink and otherwise cruel ingredients, so a pair of cruelty-free and vegan lashes might be more suited to your lifestyle.

When you've picked your lash style and type, check the size of the lash by holding it up to your eye. If the lashes look too wide or are not quite to your taste, you can trim them down with a pair of small scissors. Make sure to trim the eye lashes from the outer corner to avoid irritating the inner corner of your eye when you blink.

2. FINISH REST OF MAKEUP AND PREPARE YOUR NATURAL LASHES

Now you've selected the perfect set, curl your natural lashes and apply a coat of mascara. Before you move on to the actual eyelash application, we'd recommend that you finish the rest of your makeup first. If you put powder on after your false lashes are applied, it can get stuck to the lash glue and leave a dust-like residue — ruining the perfect look you're going for. Not to mention that if loose makeup gets trapped between your false eyelashes and your natural lash line, this can irritate your eyes.

3. APPLY GLUE WITH A BRUSH APPLICATOR OR SMALL BRUSH

Apply the lash glue to the outer seam of the eyelash strip with an applicator or small brush. This makes the process much easier as you can match the glue to the lash seam with expert precision.

Allow the glue to dry for a minute before you apply it to your eye. According to Ricky Wilson

“It's important to wave the lash around for a bit after adding the glue. This lets the formula dry enough to become tacky, preventing you from getting glue all over the place."

4. ADHERE STRIP TO LASH WITH AN ERGONOMIC APPLICATOR

Adhere the strip on your eyelid using an ergonomic applicator, positioning it as close as possible to your natural lashes. Be careful not to apply the lash too close to the inner corner of the eye.

The reason we advise that you use an ergonomic applicator is because it allows you to be comfortable enough to apply the lash, but still allows you to see what you're doing as the handle is on the side, not the front.

5. ADD EYELINER TO FILL IN ANY GAPS

The lashes are on, but to achieve a perfect and seamless look, we advise that you use an eyeliner to fill in any and all gaps between the false lash and your natural lash line. You may also want to use an eyebrow spoolie brush to keep your lashes separated and nicely defined.

And you're done! An effortlessly elevated and brighter eye for whatever look you are going for.
